Belagavi: In a decisive move aimed at restoring public order and curbing rising noise pollution, the Belagavi City Police has imposed a stringent ban on the use of DJ and Dolby sound systems across the city during festivals, processions and public gatherings.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The order, issued under the direction of Commissioner of Police Bhushan Borase and Deputy Commissioner of Police Narayan Baramani, underscores a zero-tolerance approach towards excessive noise levels that disturb civic life and threaten law and order.<\/div>\n
\u201cNo Compromise on Public Peace\u201d<\/div>\n
Police Commissioner Borase delivered a strong message, asserting that the administration will not allow the \u201cDolby culture\u201d to override citizens\u2019 right to peace. He emphasised that loud, high-powered sound systems have increasingly become a source of distress, particularly for senior citizens, students, patients and residential communities.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

He made it clear that any violation of the ban will invite strict legal action, including seizure of equipment and prosecution under relevant laws.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Clear Restrictions Laid Down<\/div>\n

Use of DJ and Dolby sound systems is completely banned within city limits until further orders.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Sound systems exceeding 2000 watts capacity are strictly prohibited.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Permissible sound levels must not exceed 75 decibels even for approved events.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Total prohibition on loudspeakers between 10 PM and 6 AM has been enforced.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Only low-capacity systems may be allowed for limited purposes such as religious or cultural events, and that too under strict monitoring.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

DCP Narayan Baramani reinforced that field officers have been instructed to act decisively without hesitation. \u201cThere will be no exceptions or selective enforcement. Rules will be applied uniformly across all communities and events,\u201d he indicated, stressing that maintaining law and order remains the top priority.<\/div>\n
